Physical retail is very much alive, despite the influx of store closures. In 2017, more than 5,000 store closing announcements were made. However, more than 90% of retail sales are still coming from in-store. Retailers cannot change their business strategy overnight to keep up with digital commerce giants. By understanding customer trends and behaviors, retailers have tremendous opportunity to reinvent the in-store experience and ultimately boost sales.
